Schilling, Joseph J. (19 Feb 1890 – 20 Oct 1975)

Joseph John Schilling, age 85, Abbotsford, died Monday, October 20, 1975 in Abbotsford.

Services will be held Thursday, October 23 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Father Emil Hodnik will officiate and burial will be in the Colby Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today. There will be a parish rosary this evening at 8 p.m.

Mr. Schilling was born February 19 1890 in Sherwood. He came to Colby in 1903 and farmed in the town of Frankfort until 1963.

He married the former Augusta Sellung, May 27, 1914, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.

They moved to Abbotsford in 1963.

Mr. Schilling was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Adeline) Raasch, Milwaukee, Mrs. Harvey (Mabel) Barts, Abbotsford, Mrs. Harlan (Margaret) Witt, Unity, Mrs. Thomas (Irene) Burdett, Anaheim, California; four sons, Thomas, Clarence and Herbert, all of Colby, and Ervin of Abbotsford; 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew and Jake, both of Wausau; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Sazama, Colby, Mrs. Stanley (Olive) Turczynski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Clara Basner, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ervin (Eleanor) Schmidt, Milwaukee.
