Extension Homemakers Scholarships (Hill/Thoma - 1982)
Two Clark County students have been awarded $300 to further their education.
Paul Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hill, Curtiss, won the Extension Homemakers
scholarship. Gloria Thoma, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Thoma, Rt. 3
Neillsville, won the 4-H & Extension Homemakers scholarship.
Gloria will be a senior at UW-Stout next fall, majoring in childhood education;
Paul is a sophomore at St. Mary’s College, Winona, Mn., majoring in journalism.
The youth completed with 36 other Clark County students. The selection of the
winners were based on their application, recommendations, and an essay on why
they wanted to study in their educational field.
The extension Homemakers scholarship alternate is Julene Bach, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Bach, Dorchester. The 4-H & Extension scholarship alternate is
Suzanne Schuette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Schuette, Unity.
Money for the scholarships is earned by Extension Homemakers at the Clark County
Fair Dairy Bar and by the 4-H Leaders Federation through plat book sales.
Members of the 1982 Scholarship Committee were Maxine Potocnik, Withee; Virginia
Myer, Unity; Mary Kipp, Loyal; and Debbie Vine, Granton.
