Russell Bunkelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bunkelman, and Jeff Venzke, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Venzke, represented the Abbotsford FFA Chapter and Wisconsin
and the 48th Annual National Future Farmers of America Convention held in Kansas
City, Missouri from November 11 – 14, 1975.
Over 20,000 FFA members and advisors from all over the United States attended
the convention.
The Stevens Point FFA Chapter arranged and selected 36 members from local area
schools to participate in the convention. The group traveled by bus to
Minneapolis, then flew to Kansas City.
Niemuth Implement Company of Stetsonville and Holtz and Barnett Soil Service of
Abbotsford, along with the local chapter, helped finance the trip.
While at the convention, Bunkelman and Venzke watched selected delegates discuss
and vot by-laws, ne programs, and other business. Attending the convention also
made it possible for them to talk with students from all over the United States
to find out about other local FFA chapters, in order to bring some new ideas
back to Abbotsford.
