Calvary Lutheran Church Anniversary (25th - 1982)
A special festival worship service will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. next Sunday,
July 25, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of Calvary Lutheran
Church in Neillsville.
Included in the worship service will be special recognition of those who were
founding members of the congregation and a brief summary of Calvary’s history.
The sermon will be preached by the Rev. Paul Forde, the present pastor and will
be followed by a report by church council president Ernie Erickson on present
ministry activities at Calvary. The service will conclude with a look at the
future goals of the congregation. Ken Van Dam, a member of the Mission and
Ministry Study Group of Calvary, will present a summary of a recent survey, “A
Shared Vision,” taken of members to determine what areas of ministry Calvary
should pursue in the future.
Following the service there will be a time of reminiscing as well as games and
other recreational activities. This will be followed by a potluck dinner at
11:30 a.m.
All charter members, former pastors, former members and community friends of
Calvary may attend with the Calvary congregation.
