Fay Hainzlsperger, Colby, participated in the annual Christmas chorale concert
and party at Viterbo College, La Crosse.
Performances were held Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the Fine Arts Center.
The Viterbo orchestra opened the program in the main theatre with Tchaikovsky’s
“Nutcracker Suite.” Selections by the Collegiate Choir included a modern verson
of “Ave Maria,” and other sacred song of Christmas. The band presented Second
Suit in F by Gustav Holst.
The Chamber Singers performed “Miss Brevis in F major and other traditional
carols of the season. The Biterbo Brass Ensemble featured works by five
composers, and was joined by a saxophone ensemble for a suite of dances from
“Terpsichore.”
The program closed with the concert choir and orchestra together for the
Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s “Messiah.”
