Schlinkert, Victor R. (13 October 1912 - 20 July 1982)
Funeral services for Victor R. Schlinkert, 69, of 502 W. 15th St. Neillsville,
who passed away on July 20, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, were held on
Friday afternoon, July 23, from Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe.
The Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiated with burial made in the church cemetery. The
Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville was in charge of arrangements.
Congregational singing, accompanied by Karen Hoppa, was offered at the service.
Pallbearers were Herman Hagedorn, Gerhardt Scheel, Ronald and Donald Kalsow,
Clarence Schlinkert and Calvin Gerhardt.
The deceased was born on October 13, 1912, in the Town of Weston to Robert and
Elsa (Wagner) Schlinkert. He received his education in Weston Schools and then
worked as a milk hauler in the Neillsville area for many years. He later bought
a farm in the Globe area.
On September 13, 1940, he married Viola Guk in Granton ceremonies. The couple
farmed until 1978. In May of this year, they moved to Neillsville. He was a
member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Globe.
Surviving him, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Verona) Kloehn
of Stoddard and Mrs. Frank (Vanda) Garcia of Eau Claire; a sister, Mrs. Conrad
(Helen) Kaiser, Marshfield; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
a sister, Edna Lichter.
