Lindberg, Robert C. “Bob” (24 August 1940 – 27 December 2022) With Flag
Robert (Bob) Carol Lindberg, 82, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Dorchester,
Wisconsin, died on Tuesday December 27, 2022, after a short stay at New Century
Hospice in San Antonio, Texas.
Bob was born on August 24, 1940, to John and Esther (Stewart) Lindberg of
Abbotsford. Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Donna
(Gebert); his three children Robert Michael (Monique) Lindberg, Kristine
Lindberg and Karen Mengel. He was also a proud grandfather to his nine
grandchildren Robert Paul, Rachael (Lane), Jaurdon (Alex), Michaela (Luke),
Miranda (Warren), Cherish (Joseph), Chelsey (Ryan), Kayleigh, and Dory and great
grandfather to his five great grandchildren. He is further survived by 1 sister,
Lenore (Gary) Lindberg Gebert. Bob was predeceased by his parents, three
brothers, and five sisters.
Bob spent 19.7 years of active duty in the US Navy. In 1961 Bob was serving on
the USS Northampton, which was involved in the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Bob
received many awards and medals as a result of his years of service. Upon
retiring from the US Navy, Bob worked for the Abbotsford School District as a
Maintenance Supervisor until he retired. Bob adored spending time with his
family, whether out in the garden or watching Disney films. He also enjoyed
traveling, boating, fishing, keeping dogs, and having a Whopper and Coke.
A celebration of life will take place on April 29, 2023, at the Colby Lion’s
Shelter in Colby, Wisconsin beginning at 1:00 PM. Rembs Funeral Home will be
assisting with the arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to
