A fire early Sunday morning gutted Rich’s Sports and Service in Colby. Three
fire trucks and 24 men from the Colby Volunteer Fire Department fought the fire
for two and a half hours.
According to Fire Chief, Galen Reinhart, a passing motorist turned in the alarm
at 3:20 a.m. Apparently the fire started in the ceiling above the furnace.
Reinhart said the workshop portion and a storage room were completed gutted out.
All inventory was destroyed , including two snowmobiles, and electric riding
mower and engine parts.
Richard Kralcik, Route 2, Athens, leased the building from the Marshfield Oil
Company in April of this year.
