Barney, Patrice Maureen (10 July 1982)

Patrice Maureen Barney and Jeffrey Edward Boucher were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, July 10, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. James Barney officiated. Parents of the couple are Patrick and Janet Barney of Humbird and Arthur and Elaine Boucher of Elk Mound.

Serving as matron of honor was Barb Simonis, the bride’s sister of Merrillan. Bridesmaids were Susan Barney, the bride’s sister of Humbird; and Donna Kearney, Patti Fischer and Linda Bradley, all friends from Eau Claire.

Serving as bestman was James Lechy, friend of the groom from Franklin. Joining him were Terrence Barney, the bride’s brother of Humbird; Jerome Hart, a brother-in-law; Dennis Boucher, a brother; and Marvin Boucher, a brother. Ushering were Michael Barney of DePere and Daniel Barney of Humbird; both are brothers of the bride.

Special music at the wedding was provided by Patty Schlader.

The bride chose an organdy, cropped waist gown with high neck and off-the-shoulder flounced bodice and featuring Chantilly and silk Venetian lace appliqués with teared flounced hemline. She wore a wide brimmed, veiled, lace hat. Her attendants wore gowns in blue, yellow and pink, complete with off-the-shoulder ruffles and bustles. The groom was attired in a white tuxedo while his attendants wore gray tuxedos.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner was held in the church basement. A dance was held later at the Marshfield Labor Temple. The couple then left on a trip to Mackinac Island.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Boucher will make their home in Minneapolis. She is a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School in Alma Center and in 1980 from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute- La Crosse. She is employed as a dental assistant. Her husband is a 1978 graduate of the same high school and in 1980 from the La Crosse Technical School. He is employed as an industrial hygiene technician.

Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Patti Fischer, Linda Bradley, Donna Kearny, Barb Simonis and Sue and Janet Barney.
