Michelle Lucas and Tonia Wuethrich bought their building at 105 N. Main St.,
Greenwood, in 2007, renovated it for nine months (with help from their families
and community,) and opened in June 2008.
“The business was so successful it quickly required a good percentage of our
time,” Wuethrich said.
Centuries on Main was open for 14 years, providing gifts, home décor, some local
dairy products and fresh flowers, that part of the business taking most of the
business’ time and energy, as they delivered up to a 30-mile radius around
Greenwood, and sometimes further.
“We did countless funerals, weddings, anniversaries, etc.,” Wuethrich said. “As
much as we loved what we did, it was time to get a little of ‘our time’ back.”
Centuries on Main announced the decision to close early in January and worked
with several potential buyers. The sale with Casey and Chuck Susa and Dan and
Jessica Wolf was finalized in November.
The Wolfs and Susas have not officially announced what their new business will
be, but it will be coming “soon.”
Both families are local and very familiar with Lucas and Wuethrich’s business,
the building and our community. We are so excited that the building will once
again have new character and life.
“After fourteen years of pursuing our dream and building an amazing business as
“Centuries on Main,” it is time for Michelle and Tonia to move on to other
things. We are hoping to find someone that will love our business, our building
and our community as much as we do.”
“If any of our amazing customers, friends or neighbors would be interested in a
new venture… making it your own success story, please reach out to us privately.
It has been an honor to be part of our business community and trust that
Centuries will continue on in the hands of new, enthusiastic and passionate
owners. Thank you for your support in the past years in this future transition,”
Wuethrich said.
