Officers for the Colby Volunteer Fire Department took officer January 1, 1976.
Royal Awe was elected fire chief to fill the unexpired term of Galen Reinhart.
Leland Brunker was named president; Dale Tolle, vice president; Jerry Zygowicz,
secretary-treasurer; and Harry Strathmann, trustee.
The fire department has 30 volunteer firefighters and three fire policemen from
each of the two Colby townships.
