Schleifer, Richard-Retired Coroner (Thank You - 2023)

We would like to take a moment to thank our retired Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer for all he did for our Clark County Community for the past 44 years (22 years as coroner/21 as deputy Coroner).

Every suicide, homicide or other tragic death, Richard responds. Every time unidentified remains are found or unearthed, Richard responds no mater the time or day. He has been on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Despite running on little sleep and seeing some of the worst scenarios one can imagine, he is still able to treat every family he comes across with compassion, professionalism and respect.

Richard Schleifer has what I believe to be one of the most thankless jobs in our community. Yet what he did for us on a daily basis is of paramount importance.

Informing family that their loved one has passed or working tirelessly to answer the hard questions of how someone died cannot be easy work. We are all thankful we had someone so dedicated performing it.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Cuddie Funeral Homes, Gesche Funeral Home, Maurina-Schilling Funeral Homes.
