The Rev. Frank Hinebaugh officiated at the Friday afternoon, July 30, wedding of
Bonnie Jean Meissner and Douglas H. Fish. The serviced was held at Immanuel
United Methodist Church in Chili.
Parents of the couple are Harland and Viola Meissner, Rt 1 Chili and Dr. Richard
and Sally Fish, Rt. 1 Granton.
Special music at the service was provided by organist Ronald Gluch, Trumpeter
Kut Berg and vocalists Cassie Fish and Gary Gluch.
Maid of honor was Brenda Meissner of Chili while matron of honor was Beverly
Helm of Cedarburg. They were joined by Renee Helm, also of Cederberg, and Willow
Beil of Mesa, Arizona. Dawn Meissner of Marshfield was flower girl.
J.C. Fish of Stevens Point was bestman. He was joined by Peter Fish of Downers
Grove, Illinois, Bill Fish of Kansas City, Kansas and Nick Zillmer of
Minneapolis. Ushering were Lavern Meissner of Chili and Kirt Evans of Macksville,
Kansas.
The bride chose a luster-glo gown in a sleeveless style and featuring a modified
Queen Anne’s neckline and full flared skirt that ended in a watteau train. Her
picture-style hat was trimmed with Venician lace and carried a fingertip-length
veil. (The hat was made by the bride’s mother-in-law.) She carried a cascade of
white and peach roses, stephanotis and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore
apricot-hued gowns which featured shirred front bodices, draped backs and full
pleated skirts. They carried bouquets of peach and white carnations, yellow
daisies and baby’s breath; they also wore peach-hued roses in their hair.
Following the wedding, a reception, dinner and dance was held at the Loyal
American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a wedding trip to an undisclosed
destination.
The new Mrs. Fish is a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and from
Milwaukee Area Technical College; she is employed on her father’s farm. Her
husband, a graduate of Cedarburg High School, will be a senior at UW-River Falls
this September and is majoring in agricultural education. He is employed on his
father’s farm. The couple will make their home at rural River Falls.
