Rahilly, Dr. G. Thomas (? - ? July 1982)
Word has been received of the death of Dr. G. Thomas Rahilly, 35, formerly of
Greenwood, who was killed in a New York traffic accident. Memorial services were
held on July 27 at the University of Rochester’s interfaith Chapel.
Riding his Moped on the way to work, Dr. Rahilly collided head-on with a car
driven by an 84-year old woman who told officers she had been blinded by the un.
She was charge with failure to yield the right-of-way.
From 1976 to 1978, Dr. Rahilly was associated with the Greenwood Clinic. Since
going to New York, he had been with Strong Memorial Hospital where he had
developed the electrophysiology unit within the cardiology unit. It is one of
the few existing in the nation.
A native of Franklin, Kentucky, Dr. Rahilly is the son of Dr. T. George Rahilly,
now of Fr. Lauderdale, Florida, and mrs. Dick Taylor, now of Jackson,
Mississippi. They survive him. Other survivors include his wife, Ann, and three
daughters, Katy,7, Louisa, 5, and Elizabeth, 9 months.
