Robert Lee Green, 74, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022 at the Tomah VA
Medical Center in Tomah, WI. He was born on May 18, 1948 in Neillsville, WI,
moved to Merrillan, WI in 1949.
He served in the Army National Guard, Company D 589th Engineering Battalion APO
96321 Vietnam. Returning home he worked for Struck & Irwin Paving out of
Neillsville, WI and Skip Lea Hide Fur and Cattle Co. in Alma Center, WI. He said
many times he lived a life that few had the opportunity to do. He didn’t have
any children of his own, however, he took care of many kids along the way. He
had a passion in life to help others. He loved riding horse. He was always
telling jokes and making friends and family laugh. He donated his eyes at the
end to science.
AKA Mayor of Merrillan or Mr. Twister will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hubert Green of Neillsville,
WI., mother, Nota (Turner) Green of Bunkie, LA; sister, Betty Jean (Hawley)
Green of Merrillan, WI; sister Rose Mary Green of Juda, WI.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Heidi Lauer of Merrillan, WI; girlfriend’s
son, David Scott Bremer of Merrillan, WI; brother, Tommy Ray Green of Merrillan,
WI; sister, Shirley Ann (Ehlers) Green of Apoka, FL, sister Nora Lee Green of
Sparta, WI, brother, Henry Anson Green of Merrillan, WI, sister, Gladys Marie
(Luther) Green of Black River Falls, WI, brother, Raymond H Green Jr. of
Merrillan, WI.
A celebration of life will be held at the Corner Bar, 200 N Main St., Merrillan,
WI 54754 at 1:00 pm. November 12, 2022. A private funeral service with military
honors will be held at a later time in Oak Wood Cemetery, Merrillan, WI.
