The Rev. Daniel Ahrens officiated at the Saturday afternoon, July 31, wedding of
Patti Ann Gade and Lon Henry Knoll. The sharing of vows took place at Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The parents of the couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Arvin Gade, 306 South Crocker St., Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll,
Rt. 1 Greenwood.
Special music at the service was offered by Deon Spangler and Lori Ahrens.
Serving as maid of honor was Peggy Gade, a sister of the bride from Greenwood.
She was joined by Debbie McFarlane, the groom’s sister of Willard; Dawn Ormond,
a friend from Neillsville; Lori Schnabel, a friend from Willard; and Pam
Schultz, the bride’s sister of Marshfield.
David Murphy, a friend of the groom from Casper, Wyoming, was bestman. He was
joined by Pat McFarlane, the groom’s brother-in-law from Willard; and Wally
Ormond, Tim Schultz and Howie Marg, all friends from Neillsville. Ushering were
LaVern Ehlers of Neillsville and Scott Schultz of Marshfield; both are
brothers-in-law to the couple.
Scott McFarlane and Jessica Schultz served as ring bearer and flower girl.
The bride chose a sleeveless, organza gown with ruffled lace outlining the
Victorian-styled bib and hemline and featuring a chapel-length train. She
carried a bouquet of pink roses accented by pink and white carnations,
stephanotis and baby’s breath. Her attendants’ gowns were of rose colored crepe
with spaghetti straps and sheer ruffle trimmed jackets. They carried fans with
pink carnations, a single white rose and baby’s breath. The groom was attired in
a white tuxedo while his attendants wore gray tuxedos.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Loyal American Legion Hall.
The couple then left on a northern Wisconsin wedding trip.
Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by the bridesmaids.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Knoll will make their home at rural Greenwood. She is a
graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed by Elmdale Cheese Factory,
Inc. He is a graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed by Christie
Feed and Farm Supply.
