Eslinger, Carl (28 February 1904 - 17 August 1982)
Carl Eslinger, 78, a former night club operator and Town of Seif and Weston
farmer, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Tuesday evening,
August 17.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, August 20, from St. John’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff
officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Gesche
Funeral Home of Neillsville in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers
for the funeral services were William Tegen, Edward Eslinger, Robert Seelow,
Keith Durham and Donald and Wencil Johanek.
Eslinger was born to Michael and Emma (Wilsmann) Eslinger in Mishicot on
February 28, 1904. He received his education in Mishicot schools and then worked
in an aluminum goods factory in Two Rivers. During this time, he married Stella
Johanek in June 9, 1926y, Mishicot ceremonies.
In 1931, the couple moved to the Town of Seif where they farmed for several
years. He then owned and operated the Stables Night Club for three years. The
couple then farmed in the Town of Weston. He was a member of St. John’s
congregation and the Dairyland Fox and Coon Club.
Surviving him besides his wife, is a daughter, Arlene Hilliard, Neillsville; two
sisters, Mrs. Paul (Amelia) Seelow of Neillsville and Mrs. Frank (Emma) Budde of
Stratford; a brother, Edgar, Sheboygan Falls; three grandchildren; and three
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce; two brothers, William and Irvin;
and four sisters, Julia, Edna, Lucille and Josephine.
