The marriage of Mary Corinne Vorland, Oshkosh, and Allen Lee Singstock, Oshkosh,
was solemnized at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, October 9, 1976 at 4
p.m.
Rev. Thomas Asuma read the nuptial service, at which Mark Haldeman was organist
and Richeard Tews was trumpeter. Vocalist were Lee Kester and Wendy Sawall.
Parents of the couple are Mrs. Gorton T. Vorland and the late Gorton T. Vorland,
Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Singstock, Oshkosh.
As Donald Kraut, Curtiss, gave his niece in marriage, she was seen wearing an
ivory gown fashioned of Quiana knit. The gown featured a high neckline and
empire bodice trimmed in Venice lace with pearl accents. The bodice and angel
sleeves were of boucle knit. A full chapel train encircled the skirt with
hemline bordered with Venice lace. Her headpiece was a Juliet style in waltz
length with lace trim. She carried a large white mum circle with ivory baby’s
breath and ivory streamers.
Mrs. Rita Ashenbrenner, Rosholt, friend of the bride, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Joyce Sievert, Neenah, cousin of the bride, and Cindy
Untiedt, Edgar, niece of the bridegroom.
Their gowns were in a rust boucle and Quiana knit, similar to the bride’s. They
wore matching colored hats and carried a sing bronze mum with gold streamers.
Alfred Weideman, Colby, friend of the bridegroom, was best man. James Vorland,
Neenah, brother of the bride, and Courtney Untiedt, Edgar, nephew of the
bridegroom, were groomsmen.
Completing the wedding party were ushers, Thomas Sievert, Neenah, and Jerry
Begin, Oshkosh.
A reception and buffet dinner followed in the Grand Ballroom of the Pioneer Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson, friends of the couple, hosted the reception.
The couple are both graduates of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. She is a
speech therapist at Mercy Medical Center, and he is an assistant manager of the
Paine Arboretum in Oshkosh,.
The couple will live in Oshkosh.
