Schoen, Connie Sue (4 September 1982)
Wayne Alan Opelt and Connie Sue Schoen were united in marriage by the Rev.
Joseph Henseler in Saturday afternoon, September 4, ceremonies at Neillsville’s
St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schoen, Rt. 2 Neillsville, and
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Opelt, Rt. 1 Neillsville, are parents of the couple.
Serving as matron of honor was Patricia Betz of Eau Claire. She was joined by
Linda Miller, also of Neillsville. Dennis Langreck was bestman and Larry Opelt
was a groomsman; both are from Neillsville. Ushering was Dallas Neville and Tom
Opelt.
The bride chose an organza and Chantilly lace gown with pleated chapel-length
train. She carried a bouquet of white and dusty rose-hued starbursts and roses.
Her attendants wore old-fashion dresses in a hick-berry color and carried
bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Following the wedding ceremony, a dinner was held at the Neillsville American
Legion Hall, which was followed by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom. The
couple then left on a trip to Upper Michigan.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Opelt, both graduates of Neillsville High School, are
farming.
