Sage, Ethel (13 January 1893 – 10 September 1982)
Ethel Sage, a longtime Town of Hewett resident, passed away in Neillsville
Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 10. She was 89, at the time of her death
and a resident of Memorial Home.
The deceased was born on January 13, 1893, in Garden Valley, Jackson County.
After her education, she lived in various places in Wisconsin. On May 31, 1916,
she married James P. Sage. For several years she lived in Washburn and in 1943
moved to the Neillsville area, making her home in the Town of Hewett. In 1977,
she entered the Neillsville Memorial Home.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Lyell (Marian) Wallace of St. Paul and
Mrs. Edwin (Esther) Roeder of Milwaukee; four sons, Willis of Horicon, Norman
and Orville of Neillsville and Charles of Slinger; 28 grandchildren: and 35
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Gilbert
and Donald; and an infant daughter.
The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated at the Monday,
September 13, funeral services held at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
Burial was made in the Augusta Cemetery.
