Sailing, Earl L. (23 March 1910 – 4 September 1982)
Earl L. Sailing, 72, of Rt. 1 Willard, died shortly before midnight Saturday,
September 4, at his home at Rock Dam following a lingering illness.
Mr. Sailing was born March 23, 1910, in Avoca. He was married to the former
Marian Duckert on December 9, 1931, in Avoca. He resided at Cross Plains and
Mount Horeb prior to moving to Rock Dam ten years ago. He was a Dane County
highway patrolman for many years and had worked as a road grader operator for
the Town of Foster after retiring as a patrolman.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Rodger (Marcia) Showers of Madison
and Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Cooley, Cross Plains; four sons, Delos of Verona, Ron
of Madison, Gary of Mount Horeb, and Kevin of Cross Plains; a sister, Mrs. James
(Almyra) Ryan, Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Fred of Madison, and Clarence of
Janesville; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
