The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated at the Saturday afternoon, August 28, wedding rites for Carmen Renee Ruzic and Jeffrey Roland Mallegni. The service was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. Parents of the couple are Gary and JoAnn Ruzic, 703 East Fifth St., Neillsville and Roland and Sandy Mallegni, Marengo, Illinois, and formerly of Neillsville.

Serving as maid of honor was Kirsten Ruzic, the bride’s sister of Neillsville. She was joined by Kim Mallegni, the groom’s sister of Irvine, California; Carolyn Fessler, a friend from Marengo; and Laurie Johnson, a friend from Neillsville.

Bes tman was Michael Mallegni, the groom’s brother of Neillsville. He as joined by Todd Mallegni, a brother from Marengo; Jeff Clemens, a friend from Neillsville; Scott Meyer, a Marengo friend; and Tracy Thompson, a friend from Neillsville. Ushering were John Houterman of Oak Creek and Keith Strand of Green Lake, both friends of the groom.

Kim Schwark of Willard and Melissa Millerman of Marengo, both cousins of the bridal couple, were ring bearer and flower girl.

Special music for the service was provided by Jane Kessler and Jane Meyer.

The bride chose a gown of Alencon lace with Raschel lace border, high Victorian neckline and cathedral-length train. She wore a seeded pearl tiara which supported a fingertip-length veil. Her attendants wore Daphne Rose Cana Style gowns with pleated skirts and Raschel lace trimmed chiffon jackets.

Following the service, a reception was held at Fannie’s Supper Club. The couple announced that they would take a Florida wedding trip.

Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by the groom’s aunt and grandmother in Marengo and another at the home of the bride’s parents, hosted by her bridesmaids.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Mallegni will make their home in Racine. Both are 1981 graduates of Neillsville High School. She attended one year of college in nursing at Marquette and will be returning to college at UW-Parkside in Kenosha in nursing. He is a full time student at UW-Parkside, majoring in business administration and political science.
