Walker, Amy Louise (18 September 1982)

The Rev. Howard Ott officiated at the Neillsville United Methodist Church wedding service on Saturday afternoon, September 18, for Amy Louise Walker and John (Joff) Francis Beck. Mother of the bride is Mrs. Leland Garbisch, 618 East Fifth St., Neillsville. Parents of the groom are David and Shirley Beck, Rt. 3 Neillsville.

Jana Lee Vobara, a cousin of the bride from Marshfield, served as the maid of honor. She was joined by Phillis Brey, a sister of the groom from Texas; and Miranda Yenter, a friend of the bride from Rosholt. Richard Beck was bestman. He was joined by Kip and George Beck; both are brothers of the groom from Neillsville. Ushering were David Brey and Charles Biggs, both of Texas and both are brothers-in-law of the groom.

The bride chose a gown of sheer organza with re-embroidered Chantilly lace trimmed in seed pearls and featuring a high neckline, bishop sleeves and ruffle flounced hemline that swept into a chapel-length train. Matching lace covered her derby hat with puffed veil. She carried a bouquet of burgundy carnations and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore long dresses in dusty rose hues and featuring lace necklines; they carried carnations and daisies. The groom and his attendants wore burgundy tuxedos.

Special music at the service was provided by Iris Musil and Jane Kessler.

The Sportsmen’s Club in Granton was the site for post-wedding festivities.

The bride, a 1981 graduate of Neillsville High School and in 1982 from Mid-State Technical Institute-Steven’s Point, is a licensed practical nurse at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. Her husband, a 1979 graduate of Neillsville High School, is currently a senior at UW-Stevens Point.
