Lindner, Vincent "Pete"

LOYAL - Vincent "Pee" Lindner recently was honored by the Loyal Chamber of Commerce as the community's Citizen of the Year.

Lindner, who has farmed north of Loyal for nearly 40 years, is the first non-businessman to receive the honor.

Lindner grew up a short distance from the 80-acre farm north of Loyal which he and his wife, Nina, purchased in 1946. Since then the farm size has increased to 435 acres. In 1980, Lindner's sons, Mike and Pat, joined in a partnership to operate the farm.

An active participant in community and church activities, Lindner served as commander and is currently vice commander of the Loyal American Legion Post 175. He was a member of the committee which coordinated construction of the Legion Hall.

He is also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church , Our Lady of Fatima Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Community Park committee, served 15 years on the county ASCS committee, has been a director of the Production Credit Association of Neillsville since 1967, and served on the Loyal Town Board since 1958 when he was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the death of his father. Lindner also has helped with various events at the Loyal Corn Festival.

In addition to their two sons, the Lindners have three daughters, Judy Olson, Loyal; Darlene Woodkey, Spencer; and Kay Schultz, Stevens Point. They have 14 grandchildren.
