Lindner, Vincent "Pete"
LOYAL - Vincent "Pee" Lindner recently was honored by the Loyal Chamber of
Commerce as the community's Citizen of the Year.
Lindner, who has farmed north of Loyal for nearly 40 years, is the first
non-businessman to receive the honor.
Lindner grew up a short distance from the 80-acre farm north of Loyal which he
and his wife, Nina, purchased in 1946. Since then the farm size has increased to
435 acres. In 1980, Lindner's sons, Mike and Pat, joined in a partnership to
operate the farm.
An active participant in community and church activities, Lindner served as
commander and is currently vice commander of the Loyal American Legion Post 175.
He was a member of the committee which coordinated construction of the Legion
Hall.
He is also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church , Our Lady of Fatima
Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Community Park committee, served
15 years on the county ASCS committee, has been a director of the Production
Credit Association of Neillsville since 1967, and served on the Loyal Town Board
since 1958 when he was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the death of his
father. Lindner also has helped with various events at the Loyal Corn Festival.
In addition to their two sons, the Lindners have three daughters, Judy Olson,
Loyal; Darlene Woodkey, Spencer; and Kay Schultz, Stevens Point. They have 14
grandchildren.
