Shanklin, Charles (22 January 1901 - 20 October 1983)

DORCHESTER _ Services were today at Peace Lutheran Church, Amherst, for Charles Shanklin, 82, of Route 2, Io,la, who died Thursday. The Rev.Terry Peterson officiated and burial was in Lower Amherst Cemetery.

Mr. Shanklin was born January 22, 1901 in the Town of Amherst to Mr. and Mrs. Bert (Pearl) Shanklin. He and Lydia Schroeder were married November 15, 1922 in Dorchester. He was an auction clerk for Rosholt Sales Co.Surviving are his wife; two sons, Bert of Scandinavia and Harold of Iola; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Priscilla) Scholl, Greenfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry, Amherst; and a sister, Mrs. Lelah Lightfuss, Manawa.
