Shaw, Lori (2 October 1982)
Lori Shaw and Jerry Kvasnicka, both of Rochester, Minnesota, were united in
marriage at the Neillsville United Church of Christ in Neillsville on Saturday
afternoon, October 2. Officiating were the Revs. Gary Clark of the UCC and
Thomas Fossum of a Minneapolis Catholic Church.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. H. Robert Shaw, 206 Park St.,
Neillsville, and Mrs. Adolph Kvasnicka of Hayfield, Minnesota.
Ann Chipita of New Brighton, Minnesota, and Robert Well of Anchorage, Alaska,
offered music for the service.
Sharon Tompkin, a friend of the bride from Eau Claire, served as maid of honor.
She was joined by Monica Kvasnicka, a sister of the groom from Rochester. John
Woodcock, a friend from Mankato, Minnesota, was bestman; he was joined by John
Shaw, the bride’s brother of Bloomington, Minnesota. Coming from Minnesota to
serve as ushers were Jim Kvasnicka, Hayfield; Tim Ignaszerski, New Richland; and
Brad Becher, Scott Jameson and Chuck Johnson, all of Rochester.
The bride chose an ivory silk gown with ivory viscose lace and pearl-trimmed
bodice. She wore a wide-brimmed hat adorned with pearls and lace which supported
a fingertip-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, ivy and baby’s
breath. Her attendants wore two-piece gowns in apricot, silk allure polyester
and wore classic contour-styled hats. They carried bouquets of Sonja roses
miniature spice orange carnations and baby’s breath. The groom and his
attendants were attired in classic black evening tuxedos.
Following the service, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
This was followed by a dinner and dance at the Clark County Fairgrounds
multi-purpose building.
The bride, a graduate of Neillsville High School, holds a bachelor’s degree in
nursing from UW-Eau Claire. She is employed as an occupational health nurse for
IBM of Rochester. Her husband is a graduate of Mayo Clinic’s School of Health
Related Sciences and is with the Department of Anesthesia at Mayo Clinic. The
new Mr. and Mrs. Kvasnicka will make their home in Rochester.
