Nurses Capping Ceremonies (1982)
At ceremonies in Memorial Nursing Home last Wednesday afternoon these five women
were capped and became Red Cross Volunteers. They are Ella Hoffmann, Dela
Botnen, Imogene Ampe, Bessie Spangler and Fran Larson. Service awards were also
given to the following volunteers: Helen Boyer and Dora Champoux, one year;
Agnes Olson and Nelda Hoffmann-three years; Betty Awe, Adeline Keuer and Ruby
Syth-four years; Ann Bletsoe, Martha Gutenberger, Lillian Kalsow and Lucy
Steinhilber-five years; Elmira Junchen-seven years; Ottillie Danielson-eight
years; Senta Christman an d Ella Hemp-nine years; Mabel Gallagher and Leah
Church-10 years; Mamie Hoffmann and Ellen Johnson-12 years; Trink Jenkins-13
years, Ida Nehls-14 years; Lucille Kalsow and Pearl Wasserburger-18 years; Edna
Georgas and Virginia Karnitz-21 years; Ione Bruhn had been in class and had
served for five years. She has just returned this past year.
