U.S. Air Force First Lt. Wayne H. Sterzinger, son of Mrs. Corsina Sterzinger, Route 1, Colby, has been certified as a missile combat crew commander at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota.

Lt. Sterzinger, a missile launch officer, was recommended for upgrading by the wing commander after meeting stringent training and evaluation requirements.

The lieutenant, a 1969 graduate of Colby High School, received his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin at Superior, where he was commissioned in 1973 through the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps program.

His wife, Nancy, is the daughter of Frank Goetz of Colby.
