Ampe. Albert (? - September 1982)
Albert J. Ampe, 77, a former Greenwood resident, died in mid-September in
Washington, Kansas.
Ampe was born in Greenwood to Julius and Frieda Ampe. He was married December
19, 1927, to Berta Klein at Greenwood. After their marriage, they lived for a
short time in Greenwood before moving to Kansas, where he was employed as a
cheesemaker and later operated his own cheese factory and ice cream making plant
until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, three sons and four daughters. Joining them are
three brothers, Theodore and Arthur of Neillsville and Raymond of Marshfield;
and two sisters, Margaret Masson of Sarasota, Florida, and Mary Jones of Petal,
Mississippi. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alphonse, and one sister
Alvina Keach.
