Jarocki, Walter (5 Mar 1903 – 23 Jan 1977)
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. for Walter Jarocki, age 73, Route
2, Colby.
The Rev. Emil Hodnik will officiate at the services to be held at St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church, Abbotsford. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
Mr. Jarocki died Sunday, January 23, 1977 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Mr. Jarocki was born March 5, 1903, in Thorp. He attended Thorp area schools.
In 1937 he married the former Mary Brzezinski. She died February 8, 1969.
Mr. Jarocki operated Club 29 in Thorp from 1942 to 1946. He then moved to
Abbotsford and operated the Farmer’s Home Tavern until 1953. From then until
1956 he had the Northside Bar in Colby, the Lookout Bar in Abbotsford until
1966, and the Lucky 13 Bar until 1969.
He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sons, Lawrence, Wisconsin Rapids, and Arthur, Eagle River;
one brother, Martin, Paw Paw, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Julia)
Hryniewicki, Withee, and Mrs. William (Frances) Weinberg, Skokie, Illinois, and
five grandchildren.
