Charlie Johnson, General Manager, and Donald Melvin, Field Supervisor, for the
Melvin Company, Abbotsford, recently attended a one week school at the Portland
Cemetery Association Concrete Center in Skokie, Illinois.
The course on concrete for field supervisor, covered such areas as materials,
mix design, form construction, steel placement, concrete placement and
finishing, curing, and testing.
Sessions were also held on scheduling, inspection, labor relations, and safety.
Each student received 2.9 continuing education units at the successful
completion of the course.
