Meyer, Edna (20 Jan 1890 – 1 Feb 1977)
Funeral services were held Friday, February 4, 1977 for Mrs. Frank (Edna) Meyer,
age 87, Colby.
Officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites was the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix, at the First
United Church of Christ in Colby.
Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge o arrangements.
Mrs. Meyer died Tuesday, February 1, 1977 at the Colonial House of Colby.
The former Edna Stecker was born January 20, 1890 in Unity. She married Frank
Meyer at Colby, October 7, 1908.
They farmed in the Unity area until retiring in 1942, after which they moved to
Colby.
Mrs. Meyer was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity, and its
ladies Aid. In 1974 she became a member of the First United Church of Christ and
its women’s guild. She was a member of the Enterprise Homemakers Club in Unity.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harlowe (Anita)
Hibbard, Colby, Mrs. Art (Ivy) Sorenson, Marion, Indiana, and Mrs. James (Pearl)
Beals, Franklin Park, Illinois; one son, Russel, Colby, and a brother, William
Stecker, New Richmond.
(She is buried in Colby Memorial Cemetery)
