Johnson, Jean Marie (25 June 1946 – 29 October 1982)
Funeral services were held for Jean Marie Johnson on Wednesday, November 13, in
Roseau, Minnesota. Mrs. Johnson, the daughter of Helen Franke of Neillsville,
was killed in an auto accident on October 29 near Steinbach, Manitoba.
The deceased was born in Neillsville on June 25, 1946, to Kurt and Helen Franks.
She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1964 and then attended business
school in Minneapolis, later working for Warner Hardware of Minneapolis. She was
a Twin Cities resident until 1976 when she and her family moved to the Roseau
area. On June 19, 1968, she married Laverne C. Johnson in Minneapolis
ceremonies. She was an active member of her church and treasurer of AGLOW
Women’s Fellowship.
Surviving her, besides her husband and mother, are two daughters, Melanie, 11,
and Kaila, 8, and a brother, John, Black River Falls. She was preceded in death
by her father.
The Rev. Gary Johnson officiated at the International Christian Fellowship
Church services with burial made in Roseau’s Concordia Cemetery. Serving as
pallbearers were David Gregerson, Clifford and Gary Hamann, O’Neil Foster,
Stanley Goodman and Patrick Prasek. The Helgeson Funeral Home of Roseau was in
charge of arrangements.
