NEILLSVILLE - Lawrence F. Hadzima, Neillsville police chief for the last 2 1/2
years, has announced his resignation.
He'll be leaving the post November 11.
In a letter to Mayor Bob Lulloff Friday, Hadzima said that "due to a
deterioration pf my physical health stemming from injuries received in Vietnam,
I find that I am no longer able to function as a law enforcement officer."
Hadzima began his duties as police chief on June 1, 1981, when he replaced
Walter Leggate. He had previously served as a special investigator for the
Chippewa County Sheriff's Department.
The Neillsville Police and Fire Commission will meet Monday night to begin
selecting Hadzima's successor.
