SPENCER - The Spencer School Board has denied a student's request to graduate at
the end of her junior year.
Josie Nowak, now in her junior year, asked the Board several month ago to permit
her graduation at the end of this year. By the end of the year she would have
earned the number of credits required for graduation.
Monday night, however, the Board voted unanimously, with one member absent, to
deny the request. Board member Darla Strey said the request should be denied
based on past practice and said the Board should establish a clear policy on the
matter.
