Bumann, Leo A. (17 Jul 1911 – 25 Feb 1977)
Funeral rites were held in Abbotsford Monday, February 28, 1977 for Leo A.
Bumann, age 65, Abbotsford.
The Rev. Emil Hodnik officiated at the Service held at St. Bernard’s Catholic
Church in Abbotsford. Burial followed in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick Resech, Paul Hopperdietzel, Tom Streckert, Robert Surman,
Ken Klafke and Dennis Schelling.
Mr. Bumann died Friday, February 25, 1977 of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Bumann was born July 17, 1911, at Cassel. He married the former Florence
Nagel November 3, 1937, at Abbotsford. He grew up in Marathon and worked for the
White House Milk Company from 1934 to 1970 as a maintenance engineer. At the
time of his death he was working part time for Tom Streckert in Abbotsford.
He was a resident of Abbotsford for the past 34 years.
Mr. Bumann was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Knights of
Columbus Council in Colby, and the Catholic Order of Foresters in Abbotsford.
Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Jean) Brushel,
Milwaukee, and Mary Bumann, Madison; two grandsons; two brothers, John,
Marathon, and Joseph, White Lake; five sisters, Agatha Bumann, Adeline Bumann,
Sally Bumann and Ann Bumann, all of Marathon, and Marie Bumann, White Lake.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
