Erickson, Frances B. (13 August 1905 – 30 November 1982)
Frances B. Erickson, 77, a long-time resident of the Town of York, passed away
on Tuesday, November 30, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Erickson of late
was a Neillsville resident making her home at 210 East Fourth Street.
The deceased was born on August 13, 1905, in Hankinson, N.D., to Fred and
Elizabeth (Schiltz) Wilm. She received her education in North Dakota schools. On
July 14, 1927, she married Elmer G. Erickson in Menomonie ceremonies. The couple
then farmed in the Menomonie area or a couple of years and then moved to Clark
County where they began farming in the Towns of York and Grant. After they
retired, the couple continued to make the Town of York their home. She was a
member of St. John’s of Christie, its ladies Aid and the Good Neighbors
Homemakers Club. On May 4, 1978, Mr. Erickson died, and she remained in the Town
of York until June of 1982 when she moved into Neillsville.
Surviving her are four sons, George, Wallace and Earl, all of Neillsville, and
James of Spencer; and three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Clara) Dahlke of West Bend,
Mrs. Victor (Doris) Braatz of Weyerhauser and Mrs. Jack (Mildred) True of
Clintonville. Joining them are four sisters, Marie of Eau Claire, Pauline of
Stillwater, Mn.; Pricella of Hankinson and Tillie of St. Paul, Mn; 27
grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death, besides her husband, by a son, Phillip; a brother; and
one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, December 3, from St. John’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Christie with the Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiating.
Burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery with Roger, Donald, Peter, Evan
and Dennis Erickson, John Dahlke, Jim Eisentraut and Michael True as
pallbearers. The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville was in charge of
arrangements.
