Marshall, Norbert J. (13 March 1919 - 7 December 1982) With Flag
Norbert J. Marshall, 63, Rt. 1 Neillsville, passed away at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Marshfield, on Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, after a brief illness.
He was born March 13, 1919, in the Town of Washburn, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ordie (Lena Bauer) Marshall, and received his education there. He farmed until
entering the U.S. Air Force in 1941, where he served in Europe. He was
discharged in 1945 and then returned to Neillsville. He worked as a rural milk
hauler for several years.
On June 19, 1949, he married Bette Strozewski in Neillsville ceremonies. He then
started working for Svetlik Ford in Neillsville where he was parts manager until
1977. He then worked for Nelson Muffler for a short time before working for
Kessler Brothers dairy farm for the past three years. He was a member of the
Calvary Congregation.
Surviving him, besides his wife, is a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Nadine) Beezley,
West Salem, a son, Kent, Madison, and his mother, Lena Horehled, Neillsville.
Joining them is a sister, Mrs. Alvin (Anita) Eggen, Omaha, Nebraska, and two
brothers, Leroy of Neillsville, and George of Hixton. He was preceded by his
father.
Funeral services were held on Thursday evening, December 9, from the Gesche
Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Paul Forde of Calvary Lutheran Church,
Neillsville officiated. Burial was made in Brookside Cemetery at Millston.
Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
