Morse, Ernest C. (4 May 1908 – 19 December 1982) With Flag
Ernest C. Morse, 74, a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home for the past four
years, passed away on Sunday morning, December 19, at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 21, from the Gesche Funeral Home
in Neillsville. The Rev. Howard Ott of the United Methodist Church officiated
with burial in the Town of Weston Cemetery.
The deceased was born on May 4, 1908, in the Town of Weston, to Alonzo and Ann
(Heintz) Morse. After his education, he worked at several jobs until serving in
the U.S. Army during World War II. After the serv ice he returned to Neillsville
where he held various jobs including stints at the Neillsville Country Club,
Nelson Muffler and at several farms in the Neillsville, Granton area.
Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Beverly) Gingery of Hurley and Mrs.
Daniel (Donna) Salzman of Racine; three sisters, Mrs. William (Josephine)
Strangfeld and Mrs. Mabel Buchholz, both of Neillsville ,and Mrs. Darrel (Vola)
Truax of Kenosha; a brother, Lester, Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and three
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
