Stettler, Fred R. (25 Jan 1899 – 23 Feb 1976)

Fred R. Stettler, age 77, Colby, died February 23, 1976 after a lingering illness at the Colonial House of Colby.

Services were held February 25 at the First United Church of Christ, Colby, with the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiating. Burial was in the Eagel Valley Cemetery at Fountain City.

Mr. Stettler was born January 25, 1899 in Fountain City. He received his education in Eagel Valley schools in Buffalo County.

Mr. Stettler worked for Soo Line Railroad for many years, and did cement work. He also worked for Colby Milling, which was destroyed by fire in 1961.

He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

He is survived by two brothers, Olive, Marshfield, and Oswald, Winona, Minnesota, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Kingsley, Ekalaka, Montana.
