Chaffin, Lola (Elementary Teacher of the Year - 1983)
Neillsville native Lola Chaffin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddenhagen, Rt. 2
Neillsville, was recently honored at a Wisconsin Rapids School District board
meeting as elementary teacher of the year.
Lola is a kindergarten teacher at Howe School in Wisconsin Rapids. She is a 1961
graduate of Neillsville High School and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees
from UW-Stevens Point.
The honored educator has introduced special kindergarten activities, including a
“Stepping Into First Grade” program where students move into the first grade
with the guidance of friends.
Lola has also helped guide practice teachers completing their university
education.
