About 300 students from 30 area high schools competed in North Central Technical
Institute’s seventh annual Superbowl of Business Skills in Wausau last Thursday.
Abbotsford and Colby students participating were: Beverly Wepfer in advanced
shorthand and spelling; Todd Devereaux and Michael Marcott in beginning typing;
Jerri Wojner and Laurel Wepfer in advanced typewriting; Karen Writz in business
spelling; Peggy Mantik and Mike D. Schoenfuss in bookkeeping; and Cindy Rueden
and Rick Conrad in business math.
Nancy Tauchen, Colby, was first place winner in business math.
The local students were accompanied by Mrs. Darlene Devereaux and Mrs. Connie
Braun, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Joyce Haavisto, Colby High School.
The Superbowl of Business Skills is sponsored annually by NCTI’s Chapter of the
Wisconsin Office Education Association as a community service project.
