Plockelman, Laura (1 Apr 1880 – 26 Mar 1976)
Mrs. Carl Plockelman, 95, formerly of The Dorchester area, died at Colonial
House at Colby at 7 p.m. Friday, March 26, 1976. The funeral was held Tuesday at
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Dorchester at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Roland Golz
officiated, with burial in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home at Dorchester was in charge.
The former Laura Fierke was born April 1, 1880 in the Town of Newton, Marquette
County. She received her education in the Newton area schools. In 1901 she was
married to Frederick Mueller, and he died in 1904. She married Carl Plockelman
at Dorchester on October 4, 1908. They farmed in the Town of Mayville until
1948, when they moved to Abbotsford.
Since 1971 both she and her husband had resided at Colonial House in Colby. She
was a member of St. Peter’s Church, and an honorary member of the Ladies Aid
Society.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; one son, Marvin, Dorchester; three
daughters, Mrs. Margaret Oelke, Colby, Mrs. George (Kathryn) Sampson, Cable; and
Mrs. George (Irene) Lindau, Curtiss; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren,
and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, five brothers and seven sisters.
