Nine students from the Abbotsford area have been named to receive the
Chancellor’s Award for academic excellence during the first semester (1976-77)
at UW-Stout.
They are: Sandra J. Beyerl, a senior majoring in early childhood education, and
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Beyerl, Colby: Carol Kops, a sophomore
majoring in clothing, textiles and design, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Kops, Route 1, Unity; Mark Runzheimer, a freshman majoring in industrial
technology, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Runzheimer, Route 2, Colby; Mary
Schraufnagel, a freshman majoring in home economics education, and the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Schraufnagel, Route 1, Colby; Bill Meyer, a junior
majoring in industrial technology, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Meyer,
Colby; Joyce Lenz, a senior majoring in home economics education, and the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lenz, Route 2, Colby; Gene Ruppert, a senior
majoring in vocational rehabilitation, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Ruppert, Route 1, Colby; Wenda Schwoch, a sophomore majoring in applied
mathematics, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schwoch, Jr., Dorchester, and
Randy Runge, a sophomore majoring in industrical technology, and the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Runge, Route 1, Unity.
The award replaces what has been traditionally known at eh Dean’s List, and is
presented to students who have a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above.
