February Junior Kiwanian Announced
The Neillsville Kiwanis Club has named senior Aubrey Matousek the February
Junior Kiwanian,
due to her high academics, her roles in various clubs and councils,
and working at Schmitty’s on Main. Submitted Photo.
Neillsville senior student Aubrey Matousek was honored as Junior Kiwanian for
the month of February by the local Kiwanis Club at its Feb. 23 meeting.
Matousek is the daughter of Bethany Nauertz and Jeffrey Matousek. As another
outstanding recipient in this year’s group being named to the award, Matousek is
deserving of the honor on the basis of her academic achievement,
extra-curricular involvement and volunteering efforts.
In her introduction to the club, she provided information on the various
activities she participated in.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Spanish Club,
Being a Leader and Standing Tall (BLAST), Book Club, FFA and the Teen Leadership
Council. She has maintained a straight A or A-average certificate throughout
high school, as well as achieving the academic letter. In May of 2022, Matousek
was the recipient of the Horatio Alger Scholarship.
Community involvement and volunteer activities include helping with the FFA food
stand, fall clean-up, Adopt-a-Highway, and Homecoming and Prom preparation. She
is an active participant in church-related programs, including Totus Tuus and
church camp counselor.
Along with school and community activity, Matousek has worked part-time at
Subway and currently is employed at Schmitty’s on Main and Hansen’s IGA.
Following her graduation this spring, she will enroll at UW-Eau Claire, where
she will pursue studies in communication sciences and disorders, with a career
goal as a speech pathologist.
The Neillsville Kiwanis Club’s Junior Kiwanian program has highlighted
outstanding students such as Aubrey Matousek for over 60 years. The club thanks
her for her interaction with the club members and wishes her continued success
in the future.
