Soderbeck, Ivar (29 Jan 1905 – 1 Apr 1976)
Funeral rites were held Saturday, April 3, 1976 at Christ Lutheran Church in
Abbotsford for Ivar Soderbeck, age 71, Abbotsford.
The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial followed
in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Norman Kommer was organist and Mrs. Beverly Kramer sang.
Pallbearers were Ronald Graffunder, Al Kaiser, George Hargraves, Allen Stange,
John Miller and Joe Courchaine.
Mr. Soderbeck died Thursday, April 1, 1976 at the Continental Nursing Home,
after a lingering illness.
He was born January 29, 1905 in Ogema. He received his education in the Ogema
area schools.
Mr. Soderbeck married the former Beryl Dithman on June 4, 1960.
He farmed in the Ogema area and worked as a blacksmith in a CC Camp. He then
drove school bus and was employed at Tomahawk Boxboard Company. He came to Colby
in 1952 and was employed by American Packaging Corporation until 1966, when he
retired and moved to Abbotsford.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford.
He is survived by his widow; two brothers, Ben, Austin, Minnesota, and Emil,
Oshkosh, and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Bergeson, Tomahawk.
