Mott, Bada (11 February 1888 – 29 Apr 1983)

Mrs. George (Bada) Mott, 95, a former longtime resident of Neillsville, passed away on April 29 in St. Joseph’s Hospice, Milwaukee.

The deceased was born on February 11, 1888, in Mount Morris to Nonas and Gustava (Peterson) Hasselquist. She attended college in Fargo, N.D., and then taught school for several years. In 1910, she married George Mott in Mount Morris ceremonies. They then managed a general store and ice cream parlor in Red Granite for several years. They later moved to Hein Town in Clark County and operated a cheese factory. In 1921, the couple moved to a farm south of Neillsville. The couple remained there until the 1952 death of Mr. Mott.

Surviving her are four daughters, Evelyn Kluever and Irma Zoschke, both of Milwaukee, Dorothy Jordan of Madison and Alice Barrette of Wis. Rapids, a son Richard, Sioux Falls, S.D. Among the Neillsville area survivors are grandchildren Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Hill and Steve Barrette. They join a total of 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Mrs. Mott was preceded in death, besides her husband, by two sons. Charles and Alvin.

A memorial service was held on April 30 in a Milwaukee Lutheran Church, Burial of cremated remains will take place later this year in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
