Noah, Betty (Silver/Banking - 1983)

Honored last week was Betty Noah, who celebrated her silver anniversary in the banking business. Betty is now employed by Frist National Bank of Neillsville; fellow employees celebrated with her by presenting her with a special cake marking the occasion.

Heineck, Kristin (14 June 1986)

Mr. and Mrs. Dion Peterson will reside in La Grange, Kentucky, following their wedding, Saturday, June 14. Pastor Dale Erickson joined Kristin Heineck and Dion Peterson in marriage during a late afternoon service at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Organist was Mrs. Nancy Siebecker. Dr. and Mrs. Roger Heineck, Neillsville, are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Peterson, Wausau.

Wearing a satin gown with Victorian neckline, Alencon sleeves and lace-trimmed chapel train, the bride was escorted to the altar on the arm of her father. Red roses, pink carnations, lilies, freesia and ivy were held in her cascade bouquet.

Julie Erickson was maid of honor, while Mrs. Sheryl Kuhary with Julie and Karen Heineck served as bridesmaids. All wore pink fantanza gowns with ruffled sweetheart necklines and bustle-look backs. They caried bouquets similar to that of the bride.

The groom’s attendants included Craig Kuhary, bestman, and groomsmen Peter Heineck, Greg and Mike Peterson. Ushers were Brian Mais and Eric Kuhary.

Wedding guests attended a dinner and reception at the Holiday Inn, Wausau, and danced later to the music of the Lynn Eckes Trio. Wedding photography by Strack, Neillsville.

Mrs. Peterson is a graduate of Neillsville High School, UW-River Falls, with an animal science major. She will hold the position of training facility supervisor at an Arabian farm in Kentucky. The groom is a graduate of Wausau East and UW-Stevens Point, with a bachelor of science degree in Water Resources and Fisheries. He is self-employed as Peterson Custom Rod and Lure.

Joy L. Lonning and Richard Murphy, both of La Crosse, became husband and wife during an early afternoon ceremony, May 10, at United Methodist Church, Greenwood. Rev. Norbert Miller officiated, with musical accompaniment provided by Kathy Miller. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gale Lonning, Rt. 3 Neillsville; Hold Murphy, Black River Falls, and Leatrice Murphy, Barstow, California.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown of white satin and carried a bouquet, which she made of iris, roses and daisies. Her attendants, maid of honor Tammy Karlen and bridesmaids Gloria Thoma and Janice Ormond, were attired in lavender satin gowns. Their bouquets, also made by the bride, held iris and fern.

Steven Smith attended the groom as best man, with David Ludeman and Mark Ristuben as groomsmen. Neal Lonning and Dennis Pusater served as ushers. The groom and his attendants wore gray tuxedos with tails.

A reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall, following the wedding ceremony. Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by bridal attendants. After a wedding trip to Boston and Rockland, Maine, the couple is a home at 2215 S. 16th St., La Crosse.

Mrs. Murphy is a graduate of Neillsville High School and Mid-State Technical Institute, Marshfield. She is employed at Gunderson Clinic, La Crosse. A graduate of Black River Falls High School and Viterbo College, the groom is employed by the Trane Company.

Morgan, Barbara Jean (7 June 1986)

Barbara Jean Morgan and Jerry Thomas Krehmeyer, both of Neillsville, were married at 3:30 p.m. June 7 at our Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Salem. WI. The Rev, Clarence Brauer officiated. Music was provide by soloist Linda Krehmeyer, sister-in-law of the groom and organist Joanne Schmid. Parents of the couple are Harold and Lettie Morgan, of West Salem, and Merle and Joy Krehmeyer, of Neillsville.

The bride wore an off the shoulder hoop skirt gown, with layers of ruffles cascading from the waist to the floor. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and Lily-of-the-valley. Maid of honor was Linda Embke and bridesmaid was Patsy Thoma, both of Neillsville. They wore pink floor-length hoopskirt gowns and carried long stemmed pink roses. Miniature bride was Jill Day of Evansville, Indiana. She wore a floor-length town with a hoop skirt ruffle and carried a bouquet of miniature pink and white roses and Lily-of-the-valley.

Bestman was Dave Poehnelt of Unity and groomsman was Daniel Krehmeyer of Neillsville. Serving as ushers were Gary Krehmeyer, Spencer; and Richard Morgan, of West Salem. A reception and dance was held at Sul’s Place, Barre Mills.

Mrs. Krehmeyer is employed by CESA 10 and is a reading specialist at Sunburst Youth Homes of Neillsville. Her husband is employed by Wuethrich Transportation of Greenwood. The couple will reside at 400 W. 17th St., Neillsville.

Patti Noll and Scott Shirley were united in marriage on Saturday, June 14 at the United Church of Christ, Neillsville. Rev. Mark Voll officiated during the 2 p.m. ceremony and musical accompaniment was provided by organist Sheryl Henning with singers Stacy Holt and Dawn Thoma. Parents of the couple are Jeff and Bonnie Martin, Sarasota, Florida; Arlin Noll, Florida; Pete and Sandy Shirley, Willard.

Given in marriage by her father, Arlin Noll, the bride wore a bouffant taffeta gown with beaded lace bodice, sweetheart neckline, puffed sleeves and lace edged full skirt sweeping into a cathedral train. Her cascade bouquet held roses, petite daisies, azaleas, stephanotis and ivy.

Jane Handt attended the bride a matron of honor. Shelley Shirley, Kim Urlaub and Tracy Ziegler were bridesmaids. All were attired in bouffant taffeta gowns with sweetheart necklines and puffed sleeves, accented by ruffled-skirts sweeping into brush trains. They carried bouquets of roses, azaleas, baby’s breath and ivy. Nicholas Eskildsen and Jodi Ziegler were ring bearer and flower girl.

Best man was Bob Baltus and groomsmen were Danny Hainz, Todd Shirley and Dusty Kreitlow. Jim Urlaub and David Ziegler served as ushers.

Following the ceremony, guests attended a reception at the Wildcat Inn and dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom. Pre-nuptial events were hosted by Shelley Shirley, Sharilyn Ziegler, Jane Handt and Emma Zawislan.

Mr. and Mrs. Shirley are both 1984 graduates of Neillsville High School. The bride is employed at Bostwick’s Clothing Store, Rhinelander, and the groom is assistant manager at Schultz’s. The couple are at home in Rhinelander at 1350 Curran. A wedding trip to Florida is planned for a later date.

Smith, Donna A. (31 May 1986)

United Church of Christ, Neillsville, was the scene for the May 31 afternoon ceremony, joining Donna A. Smith and Steve G. Johnson in marriage. Rev. Mark Voll witnessed the union and musical accompaniment was provided by Eileen Zank, Mark and Sue Voll. Marvin and Rosemary Olson, Black River Falls, are the parents of the bride. Mr. Johnson is the son of Jerry and Mary Ellen Johnson, Neillsville.

A Victorian neckline, lace-flounced bodice and lace-appliquéd full skirt accented the bride’s organza gown, which featured a lace-bordered cathedral train. She wore a headpiece of miniature white roses and seed pearls. Her cascade bouquet held blue iris, white daisies and yellow carnations with baby’s breath and ivy.

Bridal attendants included Jeannie Aldach, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Linda Pichler and Christie Smith. All wore royal blue satin gowns with lace flounced bodices and full skirts. They carried bouquets with flowers matching the bride’s.

Mr. Johnson wore a white tuxedo, while his attendants were attired in silver satin tuxedos. Bestman was Rick Zager; Al Durst and Wayne Olson were groomsmen. Serving as ushers were Alan Debevec and Ray Olson.

Following the wedding ceremony, guests were entertained at a reception and dinner at the Wildcat Inn, Neillsville. Pre-nuptial events were hosted by the families of the bride and groom, and the Good Neighbors Homemakers Club. After a wedding trip to northern Minnesota, the couple is at home in Neillsville.

Sternitzky, Christina M. (7 June - 1986)

Christina M Sternitzky and Curtiss G. Anding became husband and wife June 7, during an afternoon ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. Rev. R, I. Biermann officiated and Mary Esser, sister of the bride, provided the music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Sternitzky, Rt. 1 Granton. Mr. Anding is the son of Annabelle Anding, Rt. 4 Neillsville, and George Anding, of Chippewa Falls.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a white taffeta gown with bishop sleeves, embroidered yoke and collar and a skirt pyramided with baby ruffles sweeping to a cathedral train. Her floral-trimmed Victorian hat featured a lace trim. Maid of honor Nicki Sydorowicz wore a teal blue fantanza gown with pleated bodice and sleeves and sweep rain with baby ruffles. Bridesmaids Chris Severson, Mrs. Dan Weis, Mrs. Tom Kren and Mrs. David Anding were dressed in matching gowns of aqua.

Attending the groom were Dan Miller, bestman and groomsmen Randy Carl, Erik Backaus, Brian and Gordon Anding. Craig and Brad Anding served as ushers. Mandy Esser and Mickey Sternitzky were flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.

Neillsville American Legion Hall was the scene of a reception ceremony. After a wedding trip to Ixtapa, Mexico, the newlyweds will reside at Rt. 1 Granton.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Anding are graduates of Neillsville High School. The bride also graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute, La Crosse, and manages Kid Boutique, Marshfield, The groom holds a position as assistant foreman with Tesmer Construction, Neillsville.

Thoma, Gloria (24 May 1986)

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Globe, was the scene of the May 24 ceremony joining Gloria Thoma and Allen Barrow in marriage. Rev. Paul Reede officiated during the 1:30 p.m. service, while music was provided by Dawn Thoma and Karen Hoppa. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thoma, Rt. 3 Neillsville, and Mrs. Doreen Barrow, Dodge Center, Minnesota.

Escorted to the altar by her father, Gordon, the bride was attired in a high-necked Victorian gown trimmed with ribbon, Chantilly ruffles and Venice lace. She carried a bouquet of white silk roses and pastel flowers.

Bridal attendants included maid of honor, Gail Lindgren and bridesmaids Carol Knoop, Mrs. Richard Murphy, Tootsie Barrow and Lisa Lewis. All wore pastel taffeta dresses with Basque waistlines. Their bouquets held white silk roses, yellow daisies, and pastel carnations to match their gowns.

Attending the groom was Michael Mozal, bestman, and groomsmen Wayne McNamer, Greg Thoma, Tim Gallager and Bill Barrow. Wedding guests were escorted into the church by ushers Dan Wulff and Gary Thoma.

After the ceremony, a reception was hosted at the Neillsville American Legion followed by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

A 1979 graduate of Neillsville High School and UW-Stout in 1983, the bride is an early childhood teacher. Mr. Barrow is a 1977 graduate of Lodi High School. He holds a bachelor of science degree from UW-Stout and is an industrial arts teacher.

Fr. Dennis Lynch of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, witnessed the May 17 marriage vows spoken between Camille Margaret Van Dyk, Granton, and David William Genteman, Neillsville. Parents of the couple are Rudy and Lavonne Horvat, Willard, and William and Louise Genteman, Loyal.

Pat Nickel and Darla Rueth provided music.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a long-sleeved, sheer organza gown with pearled, re-embroidered Alencon lace, and be-ruffled neckline, which swept to a cathedral train. She carried a bouquet filled with white roses and rainbow-colored carnations.

Maid of honor Lisa Horvat and bridesmaids Grace Horvat, Sue Wienke and Patricia Friemoth were attired in rainbow-colored taffeta gowns featuring pouf sleeves, ruffled necklines and semi-bouffant skirts. Their bouquets held white roses-accented by rainbow-colored daisies. Miniature bride and groom were Nicole Lindner and Jeremy Bolf, both of Greenwood.

The groom’s attendants were bestman Wayne Genteman and groomsmen Dan Genteman, Steven and Scott Horvat. Guests were escorted into the church by ushers Jim Genteman and Dennis Horvat.

A dinner in the church basement, followed the wedding ceremony with a reception and dance later in the day, at the Loyal Legion. Wedding photography was by Lyle Hoerter, Marshfield.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed as a nursing assistant at Neillsville Memorial Home. Mr. Genteman is employed as a machinist at Northern Auto, Neillsville. Mr. and Mrs. Genteman reside in Granton.

Vine, Judith Ann (6 June 1986)

Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Blackwood are at home, in Marshfield, following their marriage June 6, at St. John’s Catholic Parish. Rev. Donald Wilger witnessed the exchange of vows during the early evening service, while Bob Van De Loo and Donna Thompson provided music.

Mrs. Blackwood, the former Judith Ann Vine, is a daughter of Mrs. Melba Campbell and the late Gordon Campbell. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Blackwood, Marshfield.

The bride wore a gown of white Venise lace over taffeta with a sequin and pearl trimmed sweetheart neckline. The full, gathered skirt swept to a chapel train. She carried gardenias and Chantilly roses. Mrs. Steve (Mary) Madden attended as matron of honor. Lisa and Lesley Vine, daughters of the bride, were bridesmaids. All were attired in lavender gowns with flounced necklines and lace-tiered, pick-up skirts. Their bouquets held flowers matching the bride’s.

Mr. Blackwood wore a grey tuxedo accented by a white pleated shirt and cummerbund. His attendants were Dan Blackwood, bestman, and groomsmen Dan Hoffman and Kurt Bauer. Matt Blackwood and Scott Hoffman served as ushers.

A reception and dance at the Marshfield Knights of Columbus Hall followed the wedding ceremony. Deb Grosbier, Ellen Moen, Audrey Weister and Jeanne Skrzeczkoski hosted two bridal showers.

The bride a Neillsville High School graduate, is employed as a data technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A Columbus High School and W.W. L.T., La Crosse, graduate, the groom is a supervisor at St. Joseph’s Marshfield. Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood reside at 1205 Walnut, Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Michael Wolf were married Saturday, June 7, at Mead lake, Northside Park. Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated during the 2 p.m. ceremony and musical accompaniment was provided by Richie Yurkovich, Diane and Beth Wolf and Jana Herrick.

Mrs. Wolf, the former Kathleen M. (Kitty) Yurkovich, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Yurkovich, Willard. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wolf, Marshfield.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white tea length, lace embroidered gown with three-quarter sheer lace sleeves. Her nosegay bouquet of pink roses, white carnations, freesia and baby’s breath was complimented by her wrist-length, lace gloves and white flower crown.

Attending the bride was maid of honor Bonnie Yurkovich, bridesmaids Mary Jo Sischo, Cheri Schulman, Kim Wolf, and junior bridesmaids Lacey Sischo and Amy Yurkovich. All were attired in rose-colored tea length gowns accented by satin sashes. Thy carried nosegay garden bouquets. Kimberly Yurkovich was flower girl.

Patrick Wolf, La Crosse, was bestman. Groomsmen were Paul Hoffman, Luke Yurkovich and Gerald Bredeman. Ed Yurkovich and Barry Schulman served as ushers.

A lakeside reception followed the ceremony with a dinner and dance, later, at the Greenwood American Legion.

A 1976 graduate of Greenwood High School, the bride is an optometric assistant at Eye Care Systems, Marshfield. Mr. Wolf is a 1978 graduate of Marshfield Senior High and is engaged in farming. After a wedding trip to Door County, the couple will reside at 630 Freitag, Auburndale.
