PITTSVILLE -- Three members of the Abbotsford High School girls volleyball team
that completed a rare "hat trick" over the weekend by winning a third straight
WIAA Class C championship have been named to the 1983 all-marawood team selected
by coaches for release today.
Falcons named to the first team include Connie Venzke, the lone repeater from
the 1982 team. Also named to the first team are Lisa Thompson and Tari Hawks.
Rounding out the six-man team are Bev Brown, Edgar; and Kim Woodkey and Stacey
Stephens, Spencer.
Named to the second team were Donna and Linda Nelson of Prentice; Sandi
Lindstrum and Jane Felzkowski of Athens, Becky Beil of Abbotsford and Renee
Normand of Marathon.
Players receiving honorable mention include:
Sara Rausch and Angie Murkowski, Athens; Lisa Boehm and Toni Dulak, Edgar; Tammy
Schmidt and Ann Steiner, Granton; April Lloyd, Marathon; Kathy Minor, Cheryl
Woiak and Teresa Skon, Pittsville; Julie Hartman, Shelly Nyberg and Shari
Dickenson, Prentice; Becky Strey, Spencer; Konny Rottscheit, Barbie Stockheimer
and Lovanne Wenzel, Stratford.
