The home of Mike Dunivan and David Stewart, Austin, Texas, was the setting for
the October 15 wedding of Miss Mary Lou Meyer and James Ian Felix, also of
Austin. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ted Meyer of Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. John
Felix, Greenwood.
The Rev. Matthew McNaught officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Lori Brady of Ocean
City, New Jersey was matron of honor and Patrick Herrick, Greenwood was best
man. Ushering were Pete Fuglesang, Brady Merrill and Mike Dunivan.
The dinner and reception were at the same site as the ceremony.

Conner, Mrs. Jody (Judith) (Scholarship - 1986)
Mrs. Jody (Judith) Connor of Neillsville has received the Mary Hall Scholarship from Chapter CY of the P.E.O.
Sisterhood. Conner will be a senior this fall at St. Joseph’ Hospital School of Nursing. She ahs been working as
an L.P.N. since the fall of 1980 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
This is the third year the scholarship has been awarded.
The recipient is selected from applicants from Mid-State Technical Institute, The University of Wisconsin
Center, Marshfield-Wood County, and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing.

Eibergen, Eric (National FFA Scholarship - 1986)
Eric Eibergen, newly elected president of the Granton Future Famers, is on of 13 students in the state to win a
$450 scholarship from the National FFA Alumni to attend at national leadership conference in Washington
D.C. from June 23-28. He will met with his congressman, visit the sights of Washington D.C. and attend many
leadership sessions. A month ago Eric was selected as one of the top ten students in agriculture in the tri-state
area of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

Brandon Grady, son of Glen and Cheryl Grady, 209 W 14th St., Neillsville, has been accepted to attend the
seventh annual Science Summer Institute on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus, July 7-18, 1986.
The two-week institute, sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire-Extension-Education and the Eau Claire Area
Association for High Potential Children, Inc, is designed to develop the full potential of aspiring young
scientists, 12-16 years old. Brandon is enrolled in Intermediate Pascal Computers, one of 12 courses offered.
Each course includes 50 hours of instruction and laboratory, and enrollment in each course is limited to 18
students.
Students must be recommended for the Institute by two teachers or advisors. This year more than 240 students
from 100 communities in 10 states and two foreign countries will study at the Science Summer Institute. For

Sheryl L. Henning, daughter of Ronald and Marie Henning, Rt. 4, Neillsville, has been awarded an Aid
Association for Lutheran Vocational Technical School scholarship. Winners are chosen by an independent
panel of admissions directors after reviewing the quality of each student’s academic record, involvement in
extra-curricular activities, references from high school counselors and students own statements. Nationwide, at
least 100 recipients are chosen from more than 500 applicants. These awards are renewable if satisfactory
academic progress is maintained.

Meier, William L. (Passed great sales mark - 1986)
Officials at Aid for Association for Lutherans (AAL) have honored William L, Meier, FIIC, P. O. Box 144,
Neillsville, for passing the $15 million mark in career sales of life insurance. Meier is an associate of the
Kenneth R. Brueske Agency of AAL, La Crosse. Meier joined AAL’s field staff in 1981 and has since been
honored by the Association for outstanding sales and service to members four times. In addition, the National
Association of Life Underwriters awarded Meier its National Quality Award twice and its National Sales
Achievement Award four times. AAL is a fraternal benefit society of more than 1.3 mi8llion members who buy
insurance, take part in Association activities, and carry out civic, humanitarian and service projects in 6,000
AAL local branches. AAL’s home office is located in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Judy Mitte graduated on May 30, 1986, from Rochester Community College in Rochester, Minnesota, with a
degree in nursing. She has accepted employment at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Judy is the daughter of Bob and

John R. Shaw of Eden Prairie, Minnesota will receive his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at St.
Thomas University in St. Paul, MN, on Saturday, May 24, 1986. John attended UW-Eau Claire prior to
attending UW-Madison where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later received
his Professional Engineers license. He is presently employed as Project Engineer for Planmark in Eden Prairie.

James J. Tyson, son of Roland C. and Darla L. Tyson, of 650 Elm St., Black River Falls, has been promoted in
the U.S. Air Force to the rank of staff sergeant.
Tyson is a food service specialist at Galena Airport, Alaska, with the 5072nd Combat Support Group.
His wife, Jodi, is the daughter of Walter and Carolynn Hensel, of Rt. 1. Merrillan.
The sergeant is a 1980 graduate of Black River Falls High School.
